THE REVERSE HYPER ‼️✍️ This is another mac THE REVERSE HYPER ‼️✍️
This is another machine that a lot of people haven’t seen or used before, and we think people are missing out on a lot of benefit by not utilizing it here at the gym ! 

The reverse hyper offers a very unique way to strengthen your posterior chain. For a lot of us who do high amounts of hip hinging movements, your hamstrings, glutes and lower back are areas that you want to build up to increase your lifts, but also to prevent injury. The powerful hip extension that is the crux of this machine will give you a much more explosive drive through your hips for those hinging movements, and give you a higher amount of reps and volume without taxing your grip, or loading your joints.

This strength and endurance is crucial for injury prevention, and the spinal decompression that occurs from the unique load placement of this machine is great for rehabbing back injuries. If you’ve never used a reverse hyper before, we highly recommend working it into your warm up, or accessory work.

This used to be a very rare machine to come across in gyms, but is now becoming more and more widespread as people discover the benefits for strength training, and injury management. From his own personal experience at Westside Barbell, @danpetkovsekpl has had this machine as a staple even from the early days of the gym.

We always say around here that a strong back is the foundation for strong lifts. And with long histories in both strength and hypertrophy training, for themselves, clients and athletes, @danpetkovsekpl and @rodrigosilverback are taking you through their quintessential back movements, with some pointers and cues along the way.

For powerlifters, training the main movements is fun, but one of the main things that will keep you pushing through plateaus, and also mitigating injury risk is by being very intentional and methodical about your accessory work, which includes your hypertrophy work. For bodybuilders, it’s important to have a mix of lifting heavy, but never neglecting those smaller muscle groups. A well trained back will carry a good physique just as much as anything else.

This is one of the machines we get asked the most about here at the gym. It looks intimidating and complicated, and deters a lot of people for those reasons, but there’s a lot of benefits to using the belt squat, and in this video @danpetkovsekpl will walk you through how to set up, and properly execute it.

This machine is a staple in the Westside method. Its unique construction is all dedicated to building leg strength and hypertrophy with ZERO spinal load. That means you can load up as much weight as you want for your legs, without taxing your back at all. If you have an upper body injury, or if your upper body is just fatigued from your training earlier in the week, you can put all the load on your legs, get a great pump, and not have to worry about your back or shoulders at all.

Powerlifters, weightlifters, bodybuilders - any kind of athlete can benefit from incorporating some accessory work on the belt squat into their training.
